Feet planted firmly against the rough stones, unable to move further in that moment. The steps ahead appearing as an obstacle far too tiring to attempt defeating. The frost on the old steps appeared like fresh snow, reminding you of home. Some of the ice had chipped off of the icey pillars and snowed down peacefully. Even the wind felt colder, sending a shiver down your spine. It felt almost eerie, like it didn’t belong here. The air surrounding the throne and the steps leading to it felt colder the further up the stairs you slowly walked. 

The icey walls protecting the now sacred spot kept everything within its cold hold, never allowing a moment of warmth to pass. Even through the warm clothing, the cool touch of the air somehow reached you, as if welcoming in the new visitor. Staying by your side even when the steps at the very top started feeling heavier. When the image of what was awaiting at the very top started coming into view better. It being exactly what you’d expected, what you knew was waiting. Yet the same old sting followed even without the help of the cold bites of the cool air. 

Not even having noticed your breath turning into soft white puffs as it came out, your eyes stayed glued on the figure sitting still on the throne. Right in front of you, the chest of this now empty shell, still continuing its age old movement. As if still breathing in the fresh cool air, taking a moment of rest. An aching sight, yet it made no change to the stoic expression you had carried all the way up here. 

You wanted to pretend you’d come to terms with the events that had transpired in this very place. Yet each time this place had laid its gaze upon you, you’d arrived with new thoughts to share. That being the exact same reason for your arrival this time as well. It didn’t feel right to visit if you had nothing to say, like you were wasting someone’s time. A part of you humoring the thought of someone, perhaps him, listening to your rambles. At least it felt like someone did when the very person you were talking to had to appear so life-like. And if you’d been anyone else, maybe you’d found solace in that thought. But to you, the sight only brought a deep feeling of bitterness. It raised questions which had no one to answer them, likely no one to listen to them either. It was a pain to know someone fated as he had been, so well. 

And here again, stood upon your grave, “I think I finally understand why you brought them peace.” You began explaining a recent revelation, folding your hands neatly before you. Guard lowered, no weapon in sight on your form. Just the captain and someone who’d once considered themselves as a follower. Willing to give their life for this person in battle, if it meant serving what he’d believed in. 

But that aside, you wanted to believe you’d truly come to a conclusion this time. Not because you wanted to stop visiting, but because it felt like it’d been ages since his departure. And the never ending thoughts running through your head like a cat chasing a mouse were beginning to boil over. 

Yes, he’d needed to finish the mission he’d given himself. A man of his word, a fitting description in your mind. He’d promised those poor souls peace, a place to call home once it was time to finally rest. He’d served without complaining for the whole time you’d known the man, not a word spoken of what he had put himself through in order to gain pity. 

500 long years of absolute life, having carried the souls of his men, died beside him, the whole way. Not a single night of rest nor a singular complaint. He’d made a promise, dedicated his time for the cause. Carrying those weeping souls within him while travelling the nations. Heart as pure as the first snowflakes of the winter, hosting a temporary home for the otherwise lost. For the men he had felt like he’d let down. Having watched their homeland become nothing but a story for others to tell. He’d watched his very own troops fall under the immense power of the enemy, leaving him to soothe their souls when they yelled out in terror within him. His people. 

Having lost himself in the process, what he’d considered himself before then. Watched his body rot as time went on but never really caught up with him. Not like it seemed to do to the people around him. Of which, none did he ever leave behind. Those brave souls deserved to be remembered, they deserved a place to rest. An end he grew ever so slightly envious of as time ticked by. What he wished he could one day gain when he’d finally rest his eyes after 500 years. 

But stood upon your grave, “I just don’t understand why you left me behind.” The words left your lips, shattering the conclusion you’d built previously. Even if what you’d thought happened to be exactly how he’d felt, the question still stood at the back of your mind. Capitano had left with the souls on their last mission, together. With honor, no less. But he’d left you behind, without a purpose. Wasn’t this existence the very same as that of those poor souls? 

You’d joined his ranks around the time he’d been appointed the title of The Captain. Following him ever since, without a doubt of his skills as a leader for his men. Having aligned your morals based on what he’d believed in. Not to mention the skills he’d taught the people he commanded. You’d even caught people outside his troops picking up movements you had noticed the captain using. His name was a heavy one to speak, he was respected well outside his troops. And it wasn’t out of fear, it was genuine acknowledgement for his skills and power.

You’d been by his side for long enough to have figured out what he’d been attempting, even if you hadn’t known the full truth by then. How he had travelled from nation to nation, examining the ley lines there. He’d been so insistent on finding a rest place for ‘something’ you hadn’t figured out back then, that it’d been the first time you had doubted following him. But out of respect and trust, you hadn’t turned away even then. And perhaps that’d been for the best. Hadn’t you done that, there would have likely never been a chance to understand even half of what had transpired after. 

How could have you understood why he’d decided to give his life away like this, if you hadn’t seen the attempts before? This was no simple task, not for a mere human. Of which you had to remind yourself from time to time. He was but a human, even if he wasn’t allowed to live as one. 

He’d dedicated so much time on research for the perfect nation, for the right resting place for his people. Had he not failed in the past, you wouldn’t have figured most of his plan out by yourself. Realising only the rest by the very end. A time far too late to tell him no, not when he’d revealed the rest to you so willingly. Like a sickening farewell. 

Before being so aware, you’d watched him struggle with the curse, the rot. Still fully unaware of the extent of this and what it truly meant. What he’d been dealing with for the past 500 years, watched the man he’d once been get completely erased beyond recognition. How the lack of rest wore him down, but the rot corroded even that. His exterior having concealed the screams of the dead for so long. But he’d still somehow never given up on the mission he’d set for himself. 

At times it felt like you’d seen too much, like you had understood something you weren’t meant to. Truthfully wishing what you’d found out had been a misunderstanding or a trick of the eye, each time. But you knew it was all unfolding before your eyes in full truth, and he was always so aware of this. To a point where you slowly realised he was allowing you to follow, to see what he was, who he was. And most of all, what he was planning on putting into action. Only filling in the rest at the very end of the line. 

He knew you’d figure it out at some point in the far future. But he, if anyone understood the pain time was able to cause, there was no need to cause that for you. Not when he wasn’t ashamed of his goal. “But death is the end I’ve been trying to reach all along,” was what he’d said. An odd thing to hear from someone cursed with absolute life, you’d thought to yourself then. So you’d been right, in the right direction at the very least. But this revelation didn’t feel like something to celebrate over. The reality of hearing him say that, admit he’d yearned for his end for so long felt painful. Selfishly so, now that you knew the pain of his existence. 

Was it selfish to stare at the aftermath of his long plan, and wish he hadn’t succeeded? Was it fair to even let that thought cross your mind when he’d so willingly gave up his life to save the nation you were now able to visit peacefully? To wish that he hadn’t found the solution now, maybe never? You almost wished to once more be unaware of the suffering he’d been through, just to let yourself soak in those selfish thoughts. 

After all, this had ultimately been the end he’d wished for. No one had told him to sacrifice his life here, he’d wished for that to happen. To give his life, extended beyond belief, for something that mattered to him. Allowing the continuation of the life of someone who was now greatly needed in the nation. It almost made you laugh, how far he’d been willing to go just so that his very own end was so fitting to his character. Of the man that even the curse hadn’t been able to corrode. 

It was selfish to wish he’d come back. But admitting that hurt when you knew how many of his close comrades he’d finally allowed peace, but left you behind. A soldier and a trusty guard, now something you couldn’t find a word for. Seen by no one, and at the same time having no one to follow. A person without a clear tomorrow, purely because the dedication in their life sat unmoving in front of them. Because you couldn’t have asked him to carry the burden of allowing you to join him in death. You couldn’t have asked him to carry your soul along those crying one’s who’d gotten their life cut short. Not by choice, by force. That felt disrespectful then, so it did now. Even while wallowing in grief.

But stood upon your grave, you couldn’t help but wonder why you couldn’t have joined them in the honor of leaving for a permanent home. Why he’d been so adamant about leaving you behind when he was no longer here. How unfair it felt to be stood here alone, with no way to change the past. Not knowing if you should have blamed the curse, perhaps the one to blame was Ronova herself? Or maybe you should have been blaming the five sinners of Khaenri'ah? Or could have you blamed yourself for not figuring his plan out earlier and maybe you could have aided him? No, any excuse was useless in the end. There was no one you could find in your hands to blame for this fate, seemingly set in stone so long ago. 

He’d done his all for his troops, his comrades. For his homeland, long before its downfall. And even after, he’d dedicated his life to so many others without hesitation. He’d done it all for his own name and honor. This was a man worthy of unyielding respect. 

So if there was no further use for your services, no purpose anymore that was verbally given, you had to find it yourself. And maybe that’d been exactly why he’d left you behind, why he’d allowed you to see and hear everything you now knew. Every detail he’d allowed you to learn of himself, to set your memory up as a library for his memory. Your dedication to him was far from its end, was what you’d decided then. 

If you were no use to anything else, you’d serve the dead. His memory was deeply engraved into your memory. Every detail you had held on to during these years being by his side. You’d make sure the memory of him would last eternally, exactly as he’d told it himself. As the honorable man he’d been to the very end.  

The very same cool wind blew against the hem of your coat, standing upon his grave. It was peaceful for him here, not many dared to take the trip to visit. It sounded like a crying shame to say out loud, but then again, maybe he needed the peace to rest. After all, this had been the first time in 500 years he’d been allowed to truly shut his eyes for a moment. 

Your eyes travelled to gaze at the bundle of red in your hands. Clutched there tightly without even noticing the force behind it. A gift you’d brought for him here, that now felt like some new form of a goodbye that you didn’t want to admit.

The deep red petals of the beautiful spider lily swayed a little along with the wind. Somehow still just as sorrowful yet beautiful as when you had picked it up. You’d tied a few laurel leaves to the bottom of the flower, bending them a little so they looked like actual leaves of the flower.  

You weren't sure if he was still around enough to be able to appreciate the thought behind it, yet you still placed the small bouquet of flowers on his lap. Tugging them safely in place, protected from the winds and cold. Backing up a little to look at the sight now. A small drop of blood red laying upon his lap, a chest aching sight. 

You stayed for a moment longer. Staring at the man, at the red spider lily encased with laurel leaves sitting on his lap. Trying hard not to find peace within the sight, not willing to admit that this was the end he’d wanted. This was an end to his journey, something that’d been up for him to decide. 

The cool wind swayed the hem of your coat along with it now that you stood further from the throne. But the dark icey pillars around the man kept him safe, kept the flower safe with him. Continuing his work even without realising it. Keeping the beings who trusted him with their life safe.

“How many villains have you helped in the past? And are you helping them now?”

Everything for me stopped at that moment. Having Bruce’s eyes on me, a certain type of panic filled my chest. I had to mentally remind myself that he was not my father and he was not going to hurt me. That didn’t stop my pulse from racing. It didn’t stop my mouth becoming dry. It didn’t stop the fear that ripped into me so brutally that my hands shook. I picked at the skin around my nails, the stinging pain made me focus. 

I could play dumb, but there was no way Bruce fucking Wayne wouldn’t see right through that. I could deny the accusations and demand to know why he would think that. I could quit and save myself the trouble. 

Or I could do the scariest thing of all… tell the truth. 

Gotham City: 14 Years Ago

I looked across the table at a man who didn’t feel human. He felt closer to a demon, a devil, a monster. He felt truly vile. His eyes were dark, empty, and joyless. The creature released me. I had to fight the urge to turn around and run away. How could my father leave me alone with this man? He had to know I wasn’t safe. I knew he didn’t care about me, but I thought he would want to at least keep his golden goose alive.

Gotham City: Present Day

I told Bruce everything. I told him every minute detail. I told him about my mom, my dad, and everything that happened in my life. 

“So, to answer your questions: I don’t know how many there have been, but it has been a lot. And no, I vowed the day that I ran away that I wouldn’t heal another villain again. And that I would never be– I will never be a pawn for someone else.” I would never be a mouse again.

Bruce stood quickly and moved around his desk. He stood before me large and brooding, and then he knelt. 

“I am so sorry, Y/N. You don’t deserve what has happened to you,” his dark voice became surprisingly soft. “And I am sorry for doubting you.”

I felt my eyes start to burn, and I roughly blinked to rid myself of the potential tears. 

“Does this mean I still have a job here?” I laughed weakly. 

“Yes. I value honesty and loyalty above all else.”

I nodded and rose on shaky legs. I left the room without another word. 

I took the elevator down to the Batcave. My nerves felt frayed and split open after reliving my past with Bruce. I needed a distraction. I needed to hit something. 

The elevator doors split open and revealed that I was not the only one who wanted to get a workout in. Dick and Jason stood in the middle of the training mat. Both were shirtless and sweating as they swung fists at each other. For a moment, all I could do was watch like a wide-eyed pervert. 

Jason’s body was riddled with a myriad of scars. I saw evidence of burns, lacerations, gunshots, and of course… the autopsy scar. Dick also had his fair share of scars but it was about ¼ the amount that Jason had. 

Dick had the body of a gymnast. His muscles were lean and lithe. He was built for fluidity and speed just as much as strength. 

Jason was built like a fucking brick house. His shoulders were impossibly broad, and every inch he was covered in thick roped muscle. His physique looked like he had been carved from marble. He was unforgivingly hard and defined. I couldn’t help myself as I stared longer. Despite his size, he kept up with Grayson. For every punch or kick Dick threw at him Jason ducked or blocked accordingly. When he moved to hit back he put his whole body behind the punch. I could see it in the way his thick thighs and hips rotated.  

Jason landed a particularly hard hit on Dick’s shoulder. Dick winced and held up a hand. 

“First: owe that hurt, jackass. Second: I want a break,” Dick said in a sassy tone that made me snort. 

Instantly, both of the men swiveled their heads toward me. I tried pretending like I wasn’t watching them, but something in the gleam of their eyes told me they knew it… and maybe liked it.

Jason smiled at me so brightly that it made my heart clench. 

“Hey, you. Where did you go?” He asked. 

I approached both the boys, “I had to have a meeting with my boss.”

Dick winced, Jason straightened up. “What did the old bastard want?” Jason asked. 

“Information, as per usual,” I replied. It was hard to focus. Jason was dripping in sweat. A bead had run from his forehead, down his face, and ran over his Adam’s apple. I had to force my eyes back up, so I wouldn’t watch it trail lower. 

Jason smirked at me and took a step forward, “Are you ogling me, Y/L/N?”

I could feel my cheeks heat, “Not at all, Todd. I’m just taking in the physical condition of one of my clients.”

Jason laughed, and leaned forward, “Such a good little nurse, aren’t we?”

I rolled my eyes, “Don’t worry I assessed Grayson just as thoroughly.”

Jason’s eyes darkened slightly, “Oh, I doubt that–”

I returned my focus back to Jason and I saw his eyes trail the burn on my cheek and the bruises on my throat. His demeanor completely changed. He became ramrod straight. Every muscle in his body was tense. Even a muscle in his jaw tightened. 

He ran a finger parallel to the burn, “How are you feeling?”

Like I got my ass kicked, “Fine.”

“Be honest,” he practically growled out. 

“Sore,” that was an understatement but I didn’t feel like voicing my pain. Every time I did that with my father he would just tell me to suck it up and stop being a complainer. 

“You’re more than sore. I know you are.”

I shrugged and that seemed to anger him more. I ignored it and redirected the topic.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Not super affectionate, especially unprompted. They enjoy cuddling and non-sexual intimacy but rarely seek those things out on their own. They typically show affection by buying you something nice or infodumping c:

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Croft is a great friend if you're looking for someone who is a little mean and a little petty and who wants to just like. Drink wine and talk shit about strangers. But they're not really a warm and fuzzy type of friend. And if someone wanted to be their friend they'd have to be willing to put in the majority of the work on the front end–Croft would literally live in total isolation if left to their own devices.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

They do enjoy cuddling! Though they get overwhelmed when it comes to touch pretty quickly, so they can only spend so long doing it before they need their space. Their favorite ‘cuddling-adjacent’ position is sitting on the couch together with their legs in your lap c:

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

They would like to settle down, yes. They’ve never been all that interested in dating, and especially now they feel too old for it. Note–they aren’t. But they feel like they are. Croft is an excellent cook…but they’re very picky, so they really have to be prodded into making something out of their comfort zone. Their house is very cluttered, also, but it isn’t ever dirty. Just messy.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Eh, unfortunately Croft is blunt as hell. They wouldn’t soften the blow–they’d just come right out and say it. Perhaps with bullet points illustrating everything that went wrong. Maybe they’d bring a handwritten letter that really goes into the details. It wouldn’t be a pile-on, note. They’d be just as quick to speak on their own faults. Both parties would walk away feeling miserable.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

There is very little in this world Croft is less interested in than casual sex or dating. They want to settle down, yes. And they’d be willing to propose after a couple years of dating? They do want to be married quite badly, though they don’t want to do it until their parents can attend.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

As mentioned, Croft is pretty blunt. They’re more physically gentle…but that’s more hesitance than it is true softness. Emotionally they tend to keep their distance until they’re sure of a partner…and then they get quite attached. Still not the most gentle, though.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Croft doesn’t really like hugs and, as such, their hugs tend to be as fast as they can humanly make them. 

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

Hmmm. I think it would be a reasonable amount of time? They wouldn’t hesitate to say it like some of the other ROs, but neither would they be quick to say it. A few months into dating, maybe?

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

They get decently jealous! They’re staunchly monogamous and also hate basically everyone, which means they can be prone to jealousy. They get icy and distant, keeping their partner at arm’s length, and then typically end up more frustrated with themself, because they can’t figure out why they’re so upset.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

It depends on where you are in the relationship. Early on Croft’s kisses are very hesitant, almost scared. Brief, fleeting, longing types of kisses. The longer you’ve been together, though, and the more sure they are of you, the deeper and more heated their kisses get. They’re not picky with where they kiss their partner, but they do love being kissed on the neck/collar bones/shoulders.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Terrible! Croft hates kids, fully believes the feeling is mutual, and does their best to stay away from them. They feel super awkward around children–they can never figure out how they’re supposed to talk to them. Do you just treat them like adults? Do you talk down to them? It’s annoying, and kids are loud and rude, and they’re better off avoiding one another.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Chances are you’ll wake up and Croft will already be out of bed; their hair up in a messy bun, a cup of coffee sitting next to them on the desk where they’re typing away at their laptop. They write, almost obsessively, and early-morning is a great time to do so. Once they’ve noticed you’re awake, though, they’d propose either going out or working together to make breakfast. And when you have your food they’d want to start talking through both of your plans for the upcoming day.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Croft often writes late into the night. Or plays Minecraft, lol. Still, they’re a bit of a night owl–despite their early mornings. They’ll probably have to be dragged into bed. Once in bed together they’ll talk your ear off, more chatty than usual. Trying to talk through where they’re stuck with their novel, or just infodump about something that’s on their mind. They enjoy curling up together and talking until one or both of you falls asleep.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Ohhhhh they’re a bit of a mixed bag. There are some things they’re very open about–even some things that they’re weirdly open about–but other things they hold close to their chest. It’ll take a long time for them to tell even a beloved partner some things…though it isn’t always logical. They’re perfectly comfortable talking about some of their traumas, for example, but will freeze up when prompted to talk in detail about their mom. It just depends.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Croft has little patience for foolishness, and they come off as almost constantly irritated. That being said, they don’t often get full-on mad. Usually they’re just frustrated or overwhelmed or annoyed. True anger is unusual.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

They remember everything about you. Except for what they forget. Which is my joking way of saying that it’s pretty touch and go with Croft. If it’s something they find interesting, or something they’re worried you’ll be upset if they forget, chances are they’ll remember forever. Other things–especially plans or little details–sometimes fall to the wayside.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

As with the other alphabets, I’ll hint at something in the future. Croft’s first date involves a trip to an antique store, and discussing some similar life traumas.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Croft is surprisingly protective for somebody who really isn’t all that physically inclined. Especially when it comes to the dangers Easthaven poses. How they would protect you is spoilers. They don’t really think of themself as somebody who needs to be protected, to be honest, but they’d be flattered if MC went up to bat for them regardless. So long as they didn’t feel like MC was treating them like a child or like they’re fragile.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Ehhhhh Croft isn’t the best with dates or anniversaries. They usually will end up dragging their partner to either a) something to do with a current interest, b) some rich-person bullshit that they grew up doing, or c) one of their three favorite restaurants. In the real world, that is. In Easthaven their date-planning prowess is even less impressive. When it comes to gifts, though? Oh, Croft is the best at gifts. They really tend to think them through, and they have the money to really go wild.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Writing or gaming basically all night long is a big one. Getting very little sleep, and then being even more grumpy than usual the next day. Drinking too much caffeine. Gossiping–which is especially funny, because they don’t care about most people, so they will quite readily talk shit to their faces. Also Croft has never really outgrown their childhood belief that money can buy anything, which makes this whole ~trapped in hell town~ thing all the more frustrating.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

I wouldn’t really describe them as concerned with their looks…but that’s mostly because they’ve spent a lot of time (and resources) becoming exactly who they want to be. They’ve got their piercings and their tattoos and those really make them feel steady in who they are. That being said, Croft doesn’t give two shits what other people think of their looks, other than maybe the person they have feelings for. They mostly care about feeling like themself.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Lol. Not really–not until you’ve been together for a long time. And even then, I don’t think Croft really thinks of their partner as part of them in that way. It would be a loss, sure, but not a loss of self. They’d still be complete…just desperately sad and lonely.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

They love the ocean deeply and miss it every day. The lake just isn't the same. As much as they hate Easthaven they can't claim it's all bad because they adopted their cat here and they love her a lot. They really love chocolate but can't stand chocolate-flavored things. Their badly dyed hair is an aesthetic choice.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Immaturity drives them up the wall. They find it remarkably unattractive. Croft takes themself quite seriously–too seriously--and somebody who is always screwing around or acting like a teenager would annoy the hell out of them. 

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

A big part of the reason they avoid sleep so much is to avoid night terrors and sleep paralysis. They suffered from them when they were a little kid, but both went away in adulthood…until they moved back to Easthaven. Also, they’re the sort of person who needs to sleep with like. 6 pillows.

raiden doesn't strike me as the type to be outright with his affection. he's the type of yandere that would seem really tame at first, and hide his true feelings in the beginning of the relationship. he is actually very obsessive and even jealous when you give your attention to someone else, which you find out later on in the relationship. his affection is very intense, however. he adores you so much, he just wants to put you in his pocket! (and then keep you locked in there, make sure you can't talk to anyone else, and treat you as if you have the mind of an infant. but at least he would give you your favorite mini foods!)

this was already mentioned, but raiden would be very normal at first. the beginning of your relationship would seem like it was straight out of a romcom. sweet, innocent, and cute. he'll be honest with how he feels and comfort you when you were upset. but as the relationship goes on, he'll open up his possessive side more. but he still deeply cares about you. he is very loving and treats you with so much care, almost as if you were delicate and made of glass.

this was already mentioned, but he would just assume you were just having a bad day. all couples have fights, this is normal! raiden doesn't blame you at all. no matter how severe your anger is, he would never get mad at you. the most he'll do as a punishment is gently lecture you. he can't bring himself to be mad at you.

raiden does not see it as a game. as much as he underestimates you, he doesn't treat you like a doll or a plaything. he understands that you are just in pain, so he doesn't blame you for constantly wanting to escape. he doesn't enjoy seeing you in pain at all. raiden tries his best to comfort you and try to find out why you are so upset, but he just doesn't get it. why are you so angry? do you not like the wallpaper in your new bedroom? do you want him to spend more time with you? he's confused and desperate to help you, so he is not at all amused by your attempts to escape.

honestly? there isn't really a specific bad experience with raiden. the only bad thing about being in a relationship with him is his possessiveness and how he treats you as if you're weak. other than those two factors, raiden is surprisingly kind and mature. he would hate to make you upset. he always tries not to ruin your mood, unless he has to. he strongly believes that as long as you are happy, so is he.

I deals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

raiden would love to start a family with you. he loves the idea of taking care of kids with you by his side. if you don't want a family, he would be okay with that. he would be perfectly fine with just a couple of pets here and there as you both stay together for the rest of your lives. he doesn't exactly have a clear vision of what he wants. as long as you two are together and you are safe, he does not mind what the future holds.

oh raiden absolutely gets jealous. he doesn't like it when you give your attention to other people. he knows you're just being kind and he fully trusts you, he just doesn't trust other people. he thinks they don't know you better than he does, and they would just break your heart. but raiden would never hurt you! so he keeps that in mind when he gets bummed out about your relationship with others. he reassures himself that he is the best person to be your significant other, and nobody else. he silently sulks and he refuses to admit that he is jealous.

he is so in love. raiden absolutely adores you. he thinks you can do no wrong. he treats you with so much love and care. even though it's a bit too much and he treats you as if you're weak and you cannot protect yourself, it's only because he loves you so much. he loves engaging in any activity with you, he loves giving you his attention, his physical and verbal affection, etc. raiden is completely lovesick.

raiden is the typical shy boy approaching his crush. it's almost stereotypical, that he is extremely flustered when he confesses to you. it wouldn't even surprise you, since he was already super shy and kind towards you. he would always stammer when speaking to you and he would perform some acts of service for you every time you two crossed paths. when raiden confessed his feelings to you, it wasn't anything big. he had a couple gifts and he approached you with a red face as he poured his heart out to you.

sort of. raiden is still extremely kind and understanding to you, even though he showed his condescending and possessive side. but nobody else is aware of this behavior. you had no idea he had this side to himself when you started dating him.

raiden would not want to punish you. he thinks you can do no wrong, and he is extremely understanding when you are upset. so no matter what you do, he could never be mad at you or punish you. the worst thing he'd do is gently lecture you as if he was training a dog.

as mentioned earlier, raiden would have no problem kidnapping you and taking away your freedom. he doesn't think of it as a bad thing or a punishment, he just wants to keep you safe. the outside world is a very scary place, so you must stay in his protection! he doesn't think of it as taking away a right of yours, he has to do what is best for you. even if you are angry at him right now, someday you'll understand that he is just trying to help you!

raiden is extremely patient. he doesn't care how long it takes for you to calm down from your anger towards him, he'll always love you and take care of you. even if you attempt to escape every day, he doesn't mind at all. he will always look after you and make sure you are okay. even though he hates seeing you unhappy, he has hope that someday you'll be comfortable with your new life.

raiden would never move on. he would be extremely confused if you were to die. what did he do wrong? he thought he was doing so well. he took such good care of you, and you were so healthy! what happened? why did he fail you? it would haunt him for the rest of his life, and he wouldn't know how to live without you. he would even have thoughts of ending his own life. why live the rest of his life in agony with memories of you, if he can just join you in the afterlife? if you were to escape however, raiden would rip the world apart just to find you. you must come back to him. he can keep you safe. please go back to him.

raiden would feel immense guilt, but he convinces himself that he is doing what is best for you. you are not safe out there, let him keep you with him. he wouldn't let you go, since he is deeply paranoid of something happening to you. he would occasionally let you wander around outside, but not too far from him or your living space.

S tigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?
